Responsibilities

• Embrace and uphold the ethos and standards of excellence per the GEMS Core Values.
• Deliver the required curriculum with up-to-date knowledge of subject matter.
• Plan and deliver quality lessons tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Maintain records of curriculum plans, attendance, and teaching resources.
• Follow GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
• Teach students according to individual needs using appropriate strategies.
• Assess and report on student progress to ensure curriculum alignment.
• Incorporate media and technology effectively in the classroom.
• Promote student wellbeing and provide educational guidance.
• Communicate with external stakeholders as appropriate (eg Ministry of Education).
• Participate in CPD, appraisal, and performance management processes.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching materials and pastoral arrangements.
• Support co-curricular and extracurricular programmes; lead where appropriate.
• Monitor behaviour and implement strategies to foster self-discipline.
• Foster cultural awareness and love of learning.
• Assist in planning school events and functions; liaise with parents.
