Job summary

American School of Doha in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher to support our mission by delivering engaging instruction and fostering a diverse, inclusive learning community. The teacher will lead classroom activities, participate in school programs, and contribute to student growth within a collaborative division.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with subject specialization and teaching certification; a Master’s degree and international experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with major or minor in subject assigned.
• Teaching certificate, license (or its national equivalency) from government organization in assigned teaching field.
• Previous successful teaching experience (national and/or international).
• Master’s degree in education or subject assigned is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safeguarding of children and comply with policies (child protection, code of conduct).
• Accept responsibilities for curricular and extra-curricular activities.
• Model and participate in teaching aligned with the school’s plan and goals.
• Be available for scheduled assignments during the teaching day and beyond as required.
• Organize and carry out teaching assignments professionally and effectively.
• Sponsor a minimum of twenty after-school activities.
• Attend faculty, department, and parent meetings as scheduled.
• Pursue professional development to enhance content knowledge and teaching practices.
• Engage students in diverse learning tasks.
• Maintain records of student performance and report grades.
• Create a safe, productive learning environment and support diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
