Job summary

Merit Services is seeking a Driller to supervise and carry out drilling operations, ensuring safe well control and equipment operation on the rig floor.

The ideal candidate has IWCF Well Control certification at Driller Level, 5–7 years of field drilling experience, and holds BOSIET/OGUK Medical; IWCF Level 3 is required. You will lead, train, and supervise the drill crew to meet safety and production targets while ensuring equipment reliability and procedure compliance in Qatar.

Qualifications

• IWCF Driller Level Well Control certification is required.
• 5–7 years of driller experience.
• BOSIET (OPITO) or equivalent certificate.
• OGUK Medical valid.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and carry out drilling and well control work on the drilling operations.
• Oversee safe operation of the drilling control system; draw works; pipe handling; mud circulating systems and BOP equipment.
• Supervise drill crew and ensure safe completion of all operations on the drill floor including daily preventative maintenance.
• Supervise, coordinate, train, and evaluate the performance of the drill crew.

Job description

• The Driller is responsible for supervising and carrying out the drilling and well control and other work in connection with the drilling operations.
• The Driller oversees safe operation of the drilling control system; draw works; pipe handling systems; mud circulating systems; and Blow-out prevention (BOP) equipment in accordance with the requirements specified in the operating procedures.
• The Driller oversees the drill crew and ensures the safe completion of all operations on the drill floor including daily preventative maintenance of all equipment.
• Supervises, coordinates, trains, evaluates the performance of the drill crew.

Requirements:

• Valid Well Control Certificate at Driller Level issued by IWCF
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience working as a driller
• Valid BOSIET (OPITO approved) or equivalent certificate
• Valid OGUK Medical
• Valid IWCF Level 3 Well Control Certification
