Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Director of the Human Research Subjects Protection Program to lead the organization’s HRPP, ensuring compliance with national statutes and ethical standards for human research. The role involves acting as the liaison with the Ministry of Public Health and coordinating across regulatory committees and Sidra divisions.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical field and 10+ years in the HRPP or related areas with 5+ years in supervision, plus CCIP certification

Qualifications

• Must have progressive responsibility in human subjects protection or related research protection programs.
• Experience supervising and managing teams with a track record of leadership.
• Expertise in oversight of IRBs within an academic medical center or similar setting.
• Experience with budget management and regulatory compliance audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintains compliance with MOPH and OHRP terms for human subject protection.
• Collaborates with regulatory chairs and administration to provide oversight and ethical conduct of research.
• Oversees HRPP activities across offices and staff involved in protections.
• Coordinates implementation of HRPP initiatives with Sidra divisions and units.
• Develops policies aligning with best practices and external regulatory guidance.
• Manages staff providing administrative and regulatory support to the IRB Committee.
• Directs resources and policy execution affecting operations.
• Coordinates IRB Office staff for timely reviews of submissions.
• Administers Responsible Conduct of Research training coordination.
• Provides counsel to HRPP team, Board members, and investigators.
• Ensures training completion for investigators and staff; monitors compliance.
• Oversees QA monitoring of HRPP and investigates non-compliance, implementing corrective actions.
• Acts as organization authority on compliance issues and liaison with regulators.
• Reviews and approves recommendations for research compliance programs.
• Keeps up-to-date with HRPP guidance and regulatory changes; communicates updates.
• Sets objectives, work plans, and delegates to subordinate managers.
• Coordinates regulatory site visits and audits; addresses findings with policy updates.
• Manages, prepares, and directs HRPP resources.
