Responsibilities:
- Ensuring there are minimal problems from the design to the delivery stage
- Using project management software, AutoCAD, and word processing programs to create MEP plans
- Preparing cost estimates for electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems
- Overseeing the work of the project management team and ensuring adherence to the project schedule
- Coordinating on-site work with architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers
- Providing MEP system installation, maintenance, and technical advice to service providers, supervisors, and inspectors
- Inspecting, analyzing, and finding solutions for engineering issues related to the MEP features
- Reviewing and evaluating the work of contractors, consultants, and other construction industry professionals
- Reviewing contractor drawings and installation method statements to ensure they comply with the MEP design plan
- Making technical clarifications to resolve coordination issues and design modifications to suit specific on-site construction requirements
- Monitoring and maintaining on-site health and safety policies and explaining the necessity of complying with these to the crew
- Undertaking off-site inspections of MEP equipment and materials to ensure compliance with regulations and project suitability
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil with Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or in a related Engineering discipline.
- Registration or affiliation with a professional body will be an asset.
- Five (5) years in a similar position
- Equivalent combination of training and experience.
