Job summary

Qatar Airways Group seeks a Design System Architect (Qatari National) to lead the architecture, governance, and evolution of the enterprise design system. You will define standards, build reusable UI components and tokens, and enable design-to-code workflows across web, iOS, and Android.

You will partner with UX, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure accessibility and cross-platform consistency, driving adoption through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in UX Design, HCI, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years in Design Systems, UI Architecture, or Front-End roles.
• Experience with enterprise-scale design systems and component libraries.
• Proficient with Figma, Claude, design tokens, Storybook, GitHub and modern workflows.
• Strong accessibility, responsive design, and multi-platform patterns.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration.

About the Role

We are looking for a Design System Architect to build and manage the shared UI framework, components, and standards that enable UX and engineering teams to deliver consistent digital experiences at scale across the enterprise. This role will be responsible for defining the architecture, governance, adoption, and evolution of the organization’s design system, ensuring seamless collaboration between design and development while improving consistency, accessibility, efficiency, and time to market across digital products.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise design system architecture, standards, and governance processes.
• Build and manage reusable UI components, design tokens, patterns, and documentation.
• Enable design-to-code workflows by integrating Figma, design tokens, and development repositories.
• Partner with UX, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure consistent implementation across web, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Establish accessibility standards and ensure compliance with WCAG and enterprise UX guidelines.
• Drive adoption of the design system through training, enablement, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Design Systems, UI Architecture, UX Engineering, Front-End Development, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale design systems and component libraries.
• Experience working with Figma, Claude, design tokens, Storybook, GitHub, and modern development workflows.
• Strong understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and multi-platform design patterns.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
