Job description

HANA DBA – Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Monitor SAP Basis system performance using SAP Solution Manager and other tools.
2. Ensure HANA database stability with SAP HANA Cockpit, HANA Studio, and related tools.
3. Optimize SQL statements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
4. Define, test, and document backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) processes.
5. Install, upgrade, and patch HANA, SAP ABAP, and Java systems.
6. Analyze performance issues using SQL and tracing tools, recommending system improvements.
7. Review and adjust ABAP/Java/HANA parameters for performance, security, and connectivity.
8. Troubleshoot SAP issues and manage SAP licensing and audits.
9. Stay updated on SAP technology trends and recommend improvements.
10. Mentor junior team members and provide L3 support.
11. Hands-on experience supporting SAP ABAP & Java stacks (ERP, S/4 HANA, BW, Fiori, etc.).
12. Experience in Windows and Linux OS environments.
13. SAP HANA and/or cloud certifications are a plus.
14. Experience with MSSQL or Oracle is highly desirable.

Oracle DBA – Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (19c, 18c, 12c).
2. Monitor and analyze database performance, logs, and alerts.
3. Proactively resolve incidents and implement preventative measures.
4. Perform cross-platform migrations and database upgrades.
5. Expertise in PL/SQL scripting and query optimization.
6. Strong experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM, and Active Data Guard.
7. Hands-on with RMAN, Data Guard, and Data Pump for backup and recovery.
8. Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Grid Control.
9. Troubleshoot and optimize ADDM/ASH/AWR reports and database performance.
10. Collaborate with teams to ensure database integrity and operations.
11. Experience with SQL Server or SAP HANA is preferred.

MSSQL DBA – Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Strong expertise in High Availability (HA) solutions, including Failover Clustering and Always On.
2. Experience using SSRS and Power BI tools for DBA-related reporting.
3. Conduct SQL Server upgrades and migrations.
4. Develop custom monitoring scripts for SQL components.
5. Optimize queries and database performance using advanced tools.
6. Troubleshoot failover errors and SQL Always On issues.
7. Implement extended events and DDL auditing for database monitoring.
8. Proficiency with SQL Server tools (Profiler, SSMS, SSCM, DMVs, Audits).
9. Advanced troubleshooting for CPU, memory, I/O, and disk space issues.
10. Expertise in PowerShell and scripting for automation.
11. Hands-on experience with Database Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery (DR).
12. Experience with Oracle or SAP HANA is required.

General DBA Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of DBA experience.
3. Strong security, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring skills.
4. Advanced certifications are preferred.
5. Knowledge of incident, event, and problem management processes.
6. Proficiency in MS SQL, Oracle, and SAP HANA.
7. Experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
8. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
10. Experience in PowerShell and Linux shell scripting.
