Job summary

Madre Integrated Engineering in Qatar is seeking a Full time Crane Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on EOT cranes, magnet cranes, pendant-operated cranes and hoists at our production site.

You will inspect bearings, wire ropes, brakes, gears and drive assemblies, replace worn components, support inspections, and ensure safety practices like LOTO and working at height are followed.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute/university.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in EOT crane maintenance within a production plant or heavy industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience with EOT Cranes, EOT Magnet Cranes, pendant-operated cranes and hoists.
• Good knowledge of crane components including wire ropes, brakes, gear reducers, couplings, wheels, magnets and rails.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of Work Permit, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space and Working at Height procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Able to work at height and in environments involving heat, dust and industrial gases.
• Safety-conscious, physically fit and capable of working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance of EOT cranes, magnet cranes, pendant-operated cranes and hoists.
• Perform routine inspection and lubrication of bearings, wire ropes, brake systems and other critical crane components.
• Support dismantling, inspection, repair and reassembly of gearboxes, hoisting drums, wheels, couplings and drive assemblies.
• Replace worn components such as wire ropes, brake pads/liners and lifting tackles as per approved procedures.
• Assist in inspection and repair of crane runways, end trucks and structural support components.
• Identify crane defects, abnormalities and maintenance issues and report them for corrective action.
• Support scheduled crane inspections and maintenance activities according to maintenance plans.
• Follow work permit, LOTO, working-at-height and other site safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with operational, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
