Job summary

Client of Dr Expat in Qatar seeks an experienced Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to lead the assessment and management of critically ill adults in the ICU, delivering evidence-based critical care with multidisciplinary teams, advanced life-support, and high standards of patient safety.

You will supervise junior clinicians, participate in quality improvement and governance initiatives, ensure meticulous documentation, and collaborate with anaesthesia, surgery and emergency medicine

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Board Certification or equivalent in Critical Care Medicine.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post-board ICU experience in a tertiary setting.
• Current eligibility for Qatar consultant licensure.

Job description

As a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine you will lead the assessment and management of critically ill adult patients requiring intensive monitoring advanced life support and multidisciplinary critical care. You will collaborate closely with physicians surgeons anaesthetists emergency medicine specialists nurses and allied healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based critical care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence. Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognised institution
• Board Certification, CCT, or equivalent specialist qualification in Critical Care Medicine or Intensive Care Medicine (or Anaesthesia/Internal Medicine with accredited ICU subspecialty training acceptable for consultant licensing in Qatar)
• Minimum 3 5 years of post-board Consultant-level ICU experience in a tertiary or high-acuity critical care setting
• Current eligibility for or ability to obtain Qatar Consultant licensure or registration
• Valid ACLS certification FCCS, EDIC, European Diploma, or equivalent critical care qualifications are advantageous
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
