Job description

As a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine, you will lead the assessment and management of critically ill adult patients requiring intensive monitoring, advanced life support, and multidisciplinary critical care. You will collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, anaesthetists, emergency medicine specialists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based critical care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit
• Provide advanced life-support and organ support management
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU ward rounds and treatment planning
• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and haemodynamic monitoring
• Perform critical care procedures within the scope of practice
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, anaesthesia, surgery, and medical teams
• Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to clinical education
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in accordance with Qatar healthcare regulations
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance initiatives
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based critical care services

Desired Candidate Profile

Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognised institution Board Certification, CCT, or equivalent specialist qualification in Critical Care Medicine or Intensive Care Medicine (or Anaesthesia/Internal Medicine with accredited ICU subspecialty training acceptable for consultant licensing in Qatar) Minimum 3 5 years of post-board Consultant-level ICU experience in a tertiary or high-acuity critical care setting Current eligibility for or ability to obtain Qatar Consultant licensure or registration Valid ACLS certification FCCS, EDIC, European Diploma, or equivalent critical care qualifications are advantageous Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
