Job summary/Role description
- He executes the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for the plant as per project requirements.
- He operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations and follows the stated procedures.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop detailed pre-commissioning procedures for Machinery & Packages, including procedures for functional tests of the machinery in accordance with the instructions from the Commissioning Machinery Superintendent.
- Conduct field checks of the DAC and prepare the relevant Commissioning punch list, following from CME.
- Expediting closure of pending Punch List Items in alignment with the priorities set by the Commissioning Superintendent (COT); ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the established procedures and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules in the field.
- Supervise the works of vendors’ specialists, ensuring their efficient utilization.
- Organize and manage the field operations of the assigned team from the Subcontractor, overseeing their tasks and the implementation of Plant Safety procedures in case of emergencies.
- Support the vendors’ specialists in executing their tasks and coordinate their actions with the Commissioning supervisors.
- Keep records of all activities performed in the logbook.
- Produce certificates, duly signed by the involved parties, and hand them over to the certification engineer (QA/QC).
- Oversee ongoing maintenance (both planned and corrective maintenance on Plant Units already in operation) in accordance with the priorities set by the Commissioning Superintendent (COT) and Commissioning Machinery Superintendent (CMT).
- Serve as the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a Permit To Work, as per the project’s Permit to Work Procedure.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- University degree or diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 10-12 years' work experience.
- Significant experience in machinery commissioning activities, specifically rotating equipment.
- Significant experience in a similar position on EPC Oil & Gas projects/ Refinery.
- Experience with rotating equipment related to polyolefins.
