Job summary

InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa is hiring a Commis Chef to join our Employee Cafeteria. You will assist experienced chefs, help prepare and cook meals, and support daily cafeteria operations in a luxury hotel environment.

We value a passion for cooking, a willingness to learn, basic food safety knowledge, and strong teamwork. Prior kitchen experience is an advantage; professional culinary qualifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or cafeteria experience is an advantage but not required.
• Passion for cooking and eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work across different kitchen and cafeteria stations.
• Professional culinary qualification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of food in line with cafeteria menu, recipes and kitchen standards.
• Ensure food is prepared in a safe, clean and organized environment.
• Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff and support day-to-day cafeteria operations.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and taste.
• Help manage inventory and monitor freshness of ingredients.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of kitchen stations and equipment.
• Support smooth and efficient cafeteria service.
