Power International Holding is looking for an experienced Commercial Assurance Manager to strengthen commercial governance, protect revenue, and improve cash performance across its group-wide portfolio, with a particular focus on major construction and infrastructure projects.
This is a hands‑on role for a commercially astute professional who can independently validate project figures, identify revenue leakage, challenge reported performance, and turn commercial risks into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate project cash flow, work in progress (WIP), certification, and collections against source documents.
- Identify uncertified earned value, revenue leakage, unapproved variations, and contractual exposure.
- Review claims, extensions of time (EOTs), and variations for entitlement, quantum, supporting evidence, and contractual compliance.
- Monitor contractual notices and time‑bar deadlines to protect the group’s commercial rights.
- Reconcile cost, value, and WIP across finance and commercial records, investigating and explaining discrepancies.
- Assess receivables ageing and distinguish between certification backlogs, client disputes, and payment delays.
- Challenge entity commercial teams and managing contractors using evidence‑based analysis.
- Deliver reliable commercial reporting, early warnings, and cash exposure updates to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with Delivery Assurance to connect project delays with their commercial and financial implications.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in construction commercial management, contracts, or quantity surveying, with direct ownership of project commercial figures.
- Strong expertise in IPC certification cycles, BOQ structures, cost‑value reconciliation, claims, variations, and collections.
- Working knowledge of FIDIC‑style contracts and GCOC, including contractual notices, disputes, and time‑bar provisions.
- Understanding of CPI and EAC from a contractor’s perspective, with the ability to assess credible project recovery plans.
- Proven track record of improving WIP, collections, cash flow, or claim outcomes on live projects or across a portfolio.
- Ability to demonstrate measurable commercial achievements, including specific recovery or claim outcomes personally delivered.
- Experience working across multiple currencies and jurisdictions; Gulf or wider MENA experience is preferred.
- MRICS or an equivalent professional membership is an advantage.
Demonstrated practical use of AI as a core working tool is mandatory. Candidates must be able to provide specific examples of how they have used AI in their own work to:
- Identify cash flow anomalies or reconcile commercial and financial data.
- Accelerate claims and variation reviews or identify contractual risks.
- Analyse contracts, notices, and correspondence to establish chronologies and flag time‑bar risks.
- Support the development of AI‑assisted commercial tools in collaboration with technical colleagues.
