Description

Note: This is a long-term contract, lasting 2 to 4 years.

Overview:

We are seeking to hire a Civil Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.

The candidate must have a minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Structural Design & Construction.

Fluency in English is required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct civil and structural engineering activities throughout all project stages.
2. Review all project drawings and documents (civil, structural, specifications, calculations, materials) for compliance with scope, standards, and specifications.
3. Participate in project pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand-over activities.
4. Evaluate contract changes/variations, making recommendations based on guidelines and standards.
5. Review and approve method statements for scope compliance and liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues.
6. Evaluate technical bid packages and participate in pre-tender meetings and evaluations, submitting reports accordingly.
7. Lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers to ensure timely delivery of services.
8. Coordinate engineering designs and review work scopes for clarity and comprehensiveness.
9. Support the development of technical skills among team members.
10. Work effectively in multicultural environments and resolve technical challenges.
11. Inspect civil works and oversee the takeover of completed buildings or facilities.
12. Ensure achievement of KPIs and customer satisfaction.
13. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
2. 10-12 years of experience in Structural Design & Construction.
3. At least 6 years in large building and civil/infrastructure projects, including 6 years in a supervisory role.
4. Good knowledge of construction activities and project management.
5. Experience with project pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand-over.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
7. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
8. Computer literacy in MS Office and structural design software.
