Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Doha is seeking a Chief Steward to lead the Stewarding department, ensuring top-tier hygiene and smooth daily operations across kitchens, banquets, and back-of-house areas.

You will develop and coach the team, coordinate with Culinary and F&B, maintain HACCP compliance, control costs, and uphold health and safety standards in a luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chief Steward or experienced Assistant Chief Steward in luxury hotel or high-volume hospitality.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and people management skills.
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Excellent planning and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high operational standards.
• Good communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop the Stewarding team to deliver exceptional operational support.
• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchens, restaurants, banquet facilities, and back-of-house areas.
• Manage the operation and maintenance of dishwashing equipment and kitchen cleaning machinery.
• Oversee the proper handling, storage, and inventory of kitchen equipment, utensils, and operating supplies.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance.
• Coordinate with the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams to support daily operations and special events.
• Control departmental costs by managing staffing, chemicals, equipment, and operating supplies efficiently.
• Conduct regular training, coaching, and performance evaluations for the Stewarding team.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while promoting a safe workplace.

Your Day to Day

As Chief Steward, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Stewarding Department while ensuring compliance with IHG brand standards and local hygiene regulations. Your key responsibilities will include:

What We Need From You
