Job description

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power (Master’s preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, CBAM software architecture, and other project‑related applications.
  • Level 2 certification in Infrared Thermography from recognized OEMs or training providers.
  • Certification in Partial Discharge from recognized OEMs or training providers.
  • Certification from an internationally recognized oil analysis laboratory for transformer oil analysis.
  • Certification in Asset Management from internationally recognized firms with experience in the same field.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and evaluating asset condition based on available data, including Partial Discharge, Infrared Thermography, Oil Analysis, Visual Inspection, etc.
Minimum Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 10 years of extensive experience in MV equipment diagnostics, testing, and diagnostics results analysis.
  • Sound knowledge of international standards and technical knowledge of distribution substation equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of condition monitoring techniques such as oil analysis, infrared thermography, and partial discharge measurement.
  • Capability to independently evaluate the health of distribution substation equipment and provide recommendations.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis, criticality index, and asset management systems.
  • Experience handling CBAM (Condition Based Asset Management) software and developing suitable CBAM methodologies, PAS55, ISO55000.
Responsibilities

Receive and evaluate all technical inputs and reports from the responsible parties.

  • Evaluate asset condition based on field data, historical records, equipment design/specifications, performance, operational issues, and aging.
  • Define asset condition using various indices for medium and low voltage assets; link current condition to performance; estimate future condition, performance, and remaining life.
  • Evaluate consequences of failures in categories such as safety, network performance, environmental, and financial impacts.
  • Quantify risks for each asset class and prioritize/rank assets based on failure probability, condition, importance, and risk (probability × impact).
  • Suggest remedial measures.
  • Analyze site data from partial discharge, infrared thermography, visual inspections, transformer oil analysis, and interpret reports based on IEC, IEEE, and ASTM standards.
  • Prepare and review reports, defend conclusions for assigned asset health indices.
  • Review abnormal cases and suggest short‑term and long‑term remedial measures.
  • Scan and present large asset data in a presentable form for management and expert decision making.
  • Ensure data quality from site to final reporting.
  • Attend monthly presentation and data review meetings with the client.
  • Measure success based on assets saved from failures with minimal or no errors in asset condition data.
  • Carry out root cause analysis, forensic, and failure investigation for equipment failures, especially post‑condition monitoring.
