Job summary

Flyper is seeking a Chemical Engineer - Process Optimization Specialist for a contract-based role in Ar-Ruwais, Qatar. The candidate will lead efforts to improve process efficiency, reduce costs, and boost productivity by analyzing current operations and implementing targeted improvements.

The role requires strong data analysis capabilities, experience with MATLAB or Minitab, and the ability to work across production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure successful execution of optimization

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in chemical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in process optimization and improving efficiency.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Minitab is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes, identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize them
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and quality assurance to ensure smooth implementation of process improvements
• Utilize data analysis tools to gather and analyze data from various sources to identify patterns and trends
• Develop models and simulations to test potential process improvements
• Monitor process performance metrics and provide regular reports on progress
• Identify potential risks or issues that may arise during the implementation of process improvements and develop contingency plans
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in technology related to chemical engineering processes
