OVERVIEW:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Specialist - Senior BI Specialist

We are looking for a Software Specialist with strong experience in BI/DWH and PowerApps, with a passion for technology and a focus on developer experience.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions.
2. Crafting and executing queries upon request for data.
3. Presenting information through reports and visualization.
4. Publishing and scheduling automated refreshes per business requirements.
5. Developing tabular and multidimensional models that follow industry best practices.
6. Integrating Power BI reports into other applications using embedded Power BI service or API automation.
7. Having excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for translating data into meaningful visualizations.
8. Implementing row-level security on data and productionizing.
9. Data integration between different sources and a centralized data warehouse.
10. Working on data warehouse design.
11. Writing SQL queries to connect to data sources.
12. Developing and executing database queries and conducting analyses.
13. Monitoring and tuning queries and data loads.
14. Creating star schema data models, performing ETLs, and validating results with business representatives.
15. Designing, building, and configuring PowerApps applications to meet business process and application requirements.
16. Providing application support.
17. Analyzing user requirements and translating them into technical requirements.
18. Applying custom development skills to build on Low to No Code solutions, starting with Power Platform.
19. Sharing demos and delivering applications into production for ongoing operations.
20. Improving user and team productivity by recommending solutions and building prototypes.
21. Analyzing business requirements by collaborating with stakeholders and IT Management, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
22. Supporting Architect to identify technical solutions based on the PowerApps architecture.
23. Providing technical advice to team members and customers on best practices for PowerApps Platform development.
24. Understanding business requirements and choosing a data model that best fits user needs, customizing when needed.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

1. Power BI/DWH.
2. Combining knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, and Power BI.
3. Background in data warehouse design (e.g., Tabular modeling).
4. SQL Server experience - ability to write complex queries.
5. DAX experience - part of Power BI.
6. Knowledge of SQL queries and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
7. Working knowledge of Power Queries.
8. R language.
9. Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.
10. In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework.
11. Database designing.
12. Expert in PowerApps development.
13. Strong knowledge in programming and web app development.
14. Implementing row-level security on data.
15. Must possess expertise in Microsoft PowerApps GUI.
16. Coding and testing skills.
17. Experience with Office and Microsoft 365 technologies.
18. Azure Data Factory and Azure Analysis Services experience is a plus.
19. Power BI experience is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

5+ Years of experience in the aforementioned platforms, tools, and skills.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an IT-related degree.
