Role Description

The Assistant Head Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar, supporting the Head Teacher in the effective leadership and management of the school. The role involves assisting in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum to ensure high academic standards and a holistic learning experience. The Assistant Head Teacher will oversee day-to-day teaching and learning activities, mentor and support teaching staff, and help coordinate professional development initiatives. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, promoting positive behavior and safeguarding practices, and ensuring alignment with school policies and regulatory requirements. The role also requires close collaboration with families, staff members, and leadership teams to foster an inclusive, learner-centered environment.

Qualifications

Strong background in Education and Pedagogy, with the ability to apply effective teaching and learning strategies in diverse classroom settings. Proven experience in Curriculum Development, including planning, implementing, and reviewing instructional programs aligned with international standards. Demonstrated Educational Leadership skills, with experience leading teams, supporting teachers, and contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives. Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with staff, learners, and families, and for preparing clear reports and documentation. Relevant teaching qualification and a bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage. Experience in school leadership or middle management roles, preferably in international or bilingual school settings. Ability to work in a multicultural environment, adapt to local regulations and cultural norms, and uphold inclusive, non-discriminatory practices. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision‑making abilities, with a focus on student welfare and academic achievement.
