Job summary

InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa is seeking an Assistant Chief Steward to uphold luxury standards in our food and beverage operations. You will assist the Chief Steward in managing the stewarding team, ensuring cleanliness, health and safety, and event service support.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience in stewarding or related roles in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service and kitchen operations.
• Proficient in inventory management and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Steward in managing all aspects of the stewarding department, including staffing, training, and performance management.
• Oversee daily dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, and equipment sanitation, ensuring health and safety standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies, equipment, and chemicals for the department.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas, storage rooms, and equipment for cleanliness and organization.
• Collaborate with culinary team to coordinate service needs during events and meals.
• Develop and implement training programs for new staff on cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
• Assist in budgeting and cost-control initiatives within the department.
