Qualifications

About the job Architectural Facilities Engineer

To bridge the gap between architectural design and facility operations by overseeing the integrity, aesthetics, and structural components of all buildings. This role focuses on managing architectural maintenance, renovation projects, code compliance, and space planning within the facilities portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architectural Maintenance & Integrity: Manage all maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities related to the architectural elements of the facilities, including facades, roofs, flooring, interior finishes, and structural components.
  • Project and Renovation Oversight: Lead and manage minor to medium-sized architectural and civil projects (e.g., office renovations, space reconfigurations, tenant fit-outs) from design conception through to final execution.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all facility structures and architectural modifications comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and Architectural Operations Manuals.
  • Design & Documentation: Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and CAD/BIM documents for facility projects. Maintain accurate records of building plans and architectural assets.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Electromechanical Facilities Engineer and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of building systems (HVAC, Electrical) within the structural and aesthetic design.
  • Cost Control: Conduct feasibility studies and prepare cost estimates for architectural repair and improvement projects, ensuring work is completed on budget and on schedule.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of practical experience in facility management, structural maintenance, or architectural project management for commercial or government buildings.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building pathology (structural defects).
    • Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and project management tools.
    • In-depth understanding of local and international building codes and life safety regulations.
    • Proven ability to manage external contractors and supervise on-site architectural works.
