Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Airfield Operations Manager to oversee the AMOPS section in a high-demand environment in Qatar. The role requires coordination with air traffic control and maintenance, along with supervision of airfield safety procedures and wildlife control measures to ensure safe aircraft operations.

The candidate will manage airfield inspections, plan and direct airfield activities, and procure essential information on weather, NOTAMs, and navigational aids.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved DoD/Airfield Managers course or aviation-related experience with a Part 121/135 operator.
• Four years of experience including supervision and coordination between air-traffic control and maintenance personnel; dispatching; airfield safety procedures; weather information; flight plan processing; wildlife management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM Medical Exam.
• Must have or be able to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain situational awareness of airfield activities and overall responsibility for AMOPS while on duty to ensure a safe, efficient airfield for aircraft operations.
• Conduct airfield inspections and checks for safety and compliance with planning criteria.
• Plan, organize, and direct airfield activities including construction/repairs, driving program, ice/snow removal, Bird/Wildlife control.
• Procure, maintain, and provide information on safe operation of aircraft through the national/international airspace system (NOTAMs, charts, weather).
• Process domestic and international flight plans.
• Coordinate with base agencies to meet aircrew requirements for billeting, messing, refueling, transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance.
