Job summary

Client of Brunel is seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control (APC) professional to monitor and optimize the mid- to long-term performance of APC across refinery and petrochemical processes in Qatar. The role requires leading change management activities and driving continuous improvement in process control strategies.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years in Oil & Gas with three years in APC analysis, and extensive experience with ethylene and polyethylene manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in Oil & Gas, with at least 3 years as an Analyst in Advanced Process Control.
• Ethylene and polyethylene manufacturing experience is required.
• Petrochemicals industry experience is preferred.
• English proficiency required; Arabic working knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve APC performance against internal and external benchmarks to optimize operations.
• Identify recurring APC problems and opportunities for sustainable solutions.
• Lead Management of Change for advanced process control changes and support plant/process changes.
• Track mid- and long-term process performance using KPIs and assess impact on actual performance.
• Provide guidance on long-term APC strategy for units to ensure optimized operation.
• Conduct internal and external APC studies to align with industry leading practices.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• APC Monitoring amp Improvement Monitor and analyze the mid and long-term technical performance of APC against internal and external benchmarks to ensure ongoing optimization
• Identify recurring APC problems and or limitations and propose initiatives to ensure the development of sustainable solutions and capture various optimization opportunities
• Participate and lead Management of Change MOC for advance process control related changes support other plant and process changes from a process control perspective
• Track mid and long-term process technical performance using - among others - predefined and agreed technical and economical KPIs and assesses process control impact on the actual performance
• Provide guidance to Operations on the general and long-term advance process control strategy for specific units or sub-units to ensure optimized units
• Conduct internal and external process control and APC studies to ensure company alignment to industry leading practices
• Ensure that the ethylene unit and other units APC are optimized and operate at high uptime
• Participating and help lead the digital transformation initiatives for Company Policies Systems Processes amp Procedures Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems processes and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency
• Implement all relevant Section s policies processes procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
• Quality Health Security Safety and Environment Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality health safety security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products services
• Reporting Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements policies and standards Qatarization Contribute to the development of Qatari employees This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Control Engineering.
• Required (2 Years / Job Level 3 / Industry): Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, out of which 3 years at an Analyst level in Advanced Process Control.
• Required ethylene and polyethylene manufacturing experience.
• Preferred (2 Years / Job Level 3 / Industry): Experience in Petrochemicals Industry.
• Required (Language / Level 4 ): English - Proficient.
• Preferred (Language / Level 4): Arabic - Working Knowledge.
