Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Windchill Solution Architect to define and govern Windchill across the enterprise. You will collaborate with partners, leads, developers, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure PLM solutions aligned with our long-term digital engineering strategy.

Job Description

Rockwell Automation is in the process of implementing the Windchill solution as a new corporate-wide PLM platform. If you're interested in joining a newly formed and growing team, please apply for this role. You will be part of the global IT Product Lifecycle Management team. As a Windchill Solution Architect at Rockwell Automation, you will define, governing, and evolving the Windchill solution architecture across the enterprise. You will work with business partners, functional leads, developers, and external partners to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable PLM solutions that align with Rockwell Automation's long-term digital engineering strategy.

You will report directly to a Manager located in Poland and offer a hybrid working arrangement.

Your Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain the Windchill solution architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and PLM strategy.
• Lead the technical design of Windchill capabilities including Part, BOM, Document, CAD, Change, Project, and Classification Management.
• Design scalable and maintainable solutions using Windchill configuration, customization, integrations, and reporting dashboards.
• Provide architecture guidance for Windchill customizations, workflows, data models, security frameworks, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and teams to translate complex our requirements into technical solutions.
• Establish and govern solution architecture standards, development guidelines, integration patterns, and coding best practices.
• Review and approve solution designs, technical specifications, and implementation approaches proposed by development teams and vendors.
• Lead architecture decisions for integrations with enterprise systems such as SAP, ERP, CAD, MES, identity management, and other engineering platforms.
• Support Windchill upgrades, platform modernization initiatives, cloud strategy, and technology roadmap planning.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, functional analysts, QA engineers, and support resources.
• Participate in Agile and SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and architecture reviews.
• Ensure documentation of architecture designs, technical standards, integration models, and system dependencies.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience implementing and supporting enterprise PLM solutions, including 7+ years of Windchill experience.
• Expertise in Windchill architecture, configuration, customization, and administration.
• Experience with Windchill technical components including workflows, lifecycles, OIRs, ACLs, types and attributes, Info*Engine, REST APIs, and system integrations.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale Windchill implementations in global organizations.
• Experience leading architecture decisions across multiple workstreams and partner groups.
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and APIs.
• Experience with Java-based application development and Windchill customization frameworks.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum or SAFe delivery models.
• Fluent in English (C1).

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Windchill Solution Architect or PTC certification.
• Experience with Windchill+, SaaS, cloud migration, or cloud-native integration strategies.
• Experience integrating Windchill with SAP, Creo, EPLAN, Salesforce, or other enterprise platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices including GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Experience working in a global multi-language environment with distributed teams.
• Exposure to ServiceNow, monitoring platforms, and enterprise support processes.
• Experience leading Windchill upgrades, platform transformations, and data migration initiatives.
