Job summary

Woonsocket High School Athletics is seeking a Wrestling Coach (Head & Assistant) to support the sports program, teach fundamentals, strategy, and physical training required for team success.

The role includes assisting the head coach with scheduling, tournament transportation, and ensuring compliance with safety rules, equipment management, and eligibility paperwork. Immediate start for after-school/evening schedule.

Qualifications

• Teaching certificate and coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge and background in the assigned sport.
• Course/workshop or proof of competency in first aid.
• Certificate or completion of a class in CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assists the head coach in scheduling and providing transportation to tournaments and special events.
• Prepares for scheduled sports events or practices and adheres to scheduled facilities.
• Provides documentation to the Athletic Director to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility.
• Keeps proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment and sites.
• Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant.
• Presence at all practices, games, and travel to provide assistance and safeguard for each participant.
• Directs student managers and statisticians.
• Determines discipline delineates procedures concerning due process when enforcement is necessary; contacts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible.

Job Description

Function: To carry out the aims and objectives of the sports program as outlined by the Head Coach. To instruct athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists the head coach in scheduling and providing transportation to tournaments and special events.
• I'd like to point out the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sports events or practices and adhere to scheduled facilities.
• Provides documentation to the Athletic Director to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility.
• Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment and sites.
• Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant.
• His/her presence at all practices, games, and while traveling provides assistance and guidance to and safeguards for each participant.
