Job summary

Citi is seeking a Data Scientist and Model Developer to advance AI/ML and GenAI models inside the AML transaction monitoring system. The role covers model development, validation, monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration across risk and technology teams.

The position is a fixed-term contract through December 2027, with compensation and benefits as outlined in Citi's policy. Location: Warsaw, Poland.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience and strong Financial Crimes knowledge—AML model development.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven project management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Quantitative risk management experience in a financial institution with model development or validation.
• Knowledge of statistical and AI/ML model development, plus regulatory understanding.
• Strong programming in Python and SQL with Big Data solutions; experience with DL frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develops, enhances, and monitors AI/ML and GenAI models within the AML monitoring system.
• Manages model lifecycle: development, performance evaluation, annual reviews.
• Translates business needs into programming and data criteria; conducts analyses and documents validation.
• Identifies modeling opportunities and presents recommendations to senior staff.
• Contributes to cross-functional AML initiatives and leads large projects.
• Assess and manage risk, ensure compliance with laws and Citi policies; escalate issues.
