Job summary

Software Mind is seeking a Data Engineer to build and optimize data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, transforming data with SQL and dbt on BigQuery. You will utilize Kafka and NiFi for ingestion, support production workflows, and shape scalable data solutions with a cross-functional team including the client’s Senior Product Owner.

Ideal candidates have hands-on ETL/ELT experience, strong SQL, and familiarity with cloud platforms.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT workflows and building data pipelines.
Strong SQL and experience with dbt or another SQL-based transformation tool.
Experience with BigQuery or a similar cloud data warehouse.
Experience with Kafka and with ingestion tools such as Apache NiFi.
Knowledge of GCP or another cloud platform.
Practical understanding of tool setup, pipeline operations and running production data workflows.
Comfortable working with GitLab and Jira, and interest in using AI tools in development.
English that allows smooth communication in the team, plus ownership of your work, a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain and improve data pipelines and ingestion processes on GCP.
Develop data transformations in SQL and dbt on BigQuery, and work with Kafka and Apache NiFi.
Support pipeline operations and tooling setup across the development lifecycle, including production data workflows.
Design scalable, reliable and maintainable data solutions with teammates and the client’s stakeholders.
Participate in architecture discussions and propose improvements.
Utilize GitLab, Jira and AI-assisted development tools in daily work.
Collaborate daily with the client’s Senior Product Owner and Lead Data Developer in a mixed team.

Project – the aim you’ll have

Our client is a gaming company established to reform the national gaming system. Operating under the principle of exclusivity, its mission is to provide games responsibly, mitigate gambling-related risks, and ensure player protection while preventing fraud.The company offers a wide range of games divided into three main categories: Lucky Games, Casino Games, and Betting Games. It emphasizes operating responsibly and contributing to a safe and secure gaming environment.

Role – how you’ll contribute

Build, maintain and improve data pipelines and ingestion processes on GCP.
Develop data transformations in SQL and dbt on BigQuery, and work with streaming and ingestion tools such as Kafka and Apache NiFi.
Support pipeline operations and tooling setup across the whole development lifecycle, including production data workflows.
Design scalable, reliable and maintainable data solutions together with teammates and the client’s stakeholders.
Take part in architecture discussions and propose improvements on your own initiative.
Use GitLab, Jira and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Antigravity in daily work.
Work day to day with the client’s Senior Product Owner and Lead Data Developer as part of a mixed client and Software Mind team.
