Job summary

Software Mind is seeking a data engineer to build and optimize data pipelines on GCP, using dbt on BigQuery, with Kafka and NiFi for ingestion. You’ll collaborate with client and Software Mind teams to design scalable data solutions.

You’ll participate in architecture discussions, support production workflows, and use GitLab and Jira, plus AI-assisted tools in daily work. This role offers flexible remote cooperation and international projects.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT workflows and building data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and experience with dbt or another SQL-based transformation tool.
• Experience with BigQuery or a similar cloud data warehouse.
• Experience with Kafka and with ingestion tools such as Apache NiFi.
• Knowledge of GCP or another cloud platform.
• Practical understanding of tool setup, pipeline operations and running production data workflows.
• Comfortable working with GitLab and Jira, and interest in using AI tools in development.
• English that allows smooth communication in the team, plus ownership of your work.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve data pipelines and ingestion processes on GCP.
• Develop data transformations in SQL and dbt on BigQuery, and work with streaming and ingestion tools such as Kafka and Apache NiFi.
• Support pipeline operations and tooling setup across the whole development lifecycle, including production data workflows.
• Design scalable, reliable and maintainable data solutions together with teammates and the client’s stakeholders.
• Take part in architecture discussions and propose improvements on your own initiative.
• Use GitLab, Jira and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Antigravity in daily work.
• Work day to day with the client’s Senior Product Owner and Lead Data Developer as part of a mixed client and Software Mind team.

Our client is a gaming company established to reform the national gaming system. Operating under the principle of exclusivity, its mission is to provide games responsibly, mitigate gambling-related risks, and ensure player protection while preventing fraud.
