Virginia Remote Licensed Therapist, 1099 Contractor – Remote, United States
Headspace is seeking part-time, independently licensed contractor therapists to provide direct, virtual care as part of a multidisciplinary team on a 1099 contract basis.
To start, please plan for 10+ hours per week with full flexibility to adjust; more hours are welcome depending on schedule. Note: due to care demand and member scheduling fluctuations, it may take several weeks to achieve a consistent schedule.
Pay ranges from $82-$87 per teletherapy session. Exact reimbursement rates will be determined during the interview process and are based on factors including but not limited to location, licensure type, experience, specializations, languages spoken, and populations treated.
Session lengths are 60 minutes for intake and 45 minutes for follow-up, with concurrent note-taking included in the session rate. All Headspace therapists must be licensed and reside in the US. Work must be provided in the U.S. Personal health information may not be accessed, disclosed or used outside of the U.S. The U.S. is limited to the 50 states and does not include U.S. territories.

What you will do
- Provide high-quality tele-therapy to Headspace patients via a HIPAA-compliant video platform
- Complete, sign and lock clinical case notes within 48 hours of session as part of the per-session reimbursement
- Maintain a personalized database with licensure proof, updates, expiration dates, and other relevant information
- Keep your availability calendar up to date
- Work with a collaborative care team including health coaches, other therapists, psychiatrists, and external care providers
What you will bring
- 3+ years of clinical psychotherapy experience with individuals, couples or families
- An independent clinical license in good standing (Master or Doctoral level); BC-TMH credential if required by your state
- Ability to offer at least 10 sessions per week with flexibility to adjust as needed
- Night and weekend availability a plus
- Competence in evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, etc.) and measurement-based care
- Experience with risk management and higher acuity cases
- Commitment to culturally responsive care
- Familiarity with care delivery technology (EMR, video conferencing, Google tools, etc.)
- A secure location with reliable internet for Zoom-based psychotherapy
- Effective communication and ability to work within interdisciplinary teams
Preferred (if applicable)
- Licensure in multiple states
- Licensed psychologist with PSYPACT enrollment or eligibility
- Experience delivering care to diverse populations
- Familiarity with the Headspace app and content
- Willingness to include evening availability
