Job summary

Virtual Colleague is seeking a Video Editor & Content Repurposing Specialist to transform raw footage into engaging, long-form YouTube videos and concise short clips for YouTube Shorts, Reels, and other platforms.

You will identify compelling podcast highlights, create thumbnails, and organize project files, maintaining your preferred editing style while meeting deadlines on on-demand projects. Collaboration with content creators and coaches is valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in long-form video editing and podcast editing.
• Experience creating short-form promotional clips from longer recordings.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut.
• Basic thumbnail creation skills.
• Good understanding of video pacing, transitions, audio quality, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and meet agreed deadlines.
• Experience working with content creators, podcasters, coaches, or personal brands is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into polished, long-form YouTube videos.
  
• Repurpose long-form videos into short-form clips of 59 seconds or less for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other relevant platforms.
  
• Identify compelling podcast highlights and key insights that can be used as promotional clips to encourage viewers to watch the full episode.
  
• Create thumbnails for YouTube videos.
  
• Organise project files, follow your preferred editing style, incorporate feedback, and deliver the agreed outputs within the project timeline.
  

Required skills and tools

• Proven experience in long-form video editing and podcast editing.
  
• Experience creating short-form promotional clips from longer recordings.
  
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut.
  
• Basic thumbnail creation skills.
  
• Good understanding of video pacing, transitions, audio quality, and visual storytelling.

Working Arrangement:

On-demand / project-based;

Package Provided:

• Per on-demand video editing package.
  
• Proposed inclusions: 1 full podcast edit, 1 full YouTube video edit, 2–3 short promotional clips, and thumbnail creation.
  

Approximate turnaround: 5 days, subject to final scope and confirmation.
