Responsibilities

• – conducting research on functional materials for the removal and detection of environmental pollutants, including MOF networks, their composites, and carbon-based materials for water purification
• – developing catalytic processes for the transformation of pollutants and for the production of compounds with potential biological activity, fragrance substances, and intermediates for pharmaceutical synthesis
• – developing interdisciplinary cooperation in assessing the effects of materials and catalytic transformation products on living organisms and their significance for the protection of aquatic ecosystems, with particular emphasis on the Baltic Sea catchment area
• – securing funding and implementing projects at the interface of chemistry, biology, and environmental protection; developing national and international cooperation; and participating in the Institute's organisational and science-popularisation activities
