Job summary

Solplanet, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, is seeking a Technical Service Engineer - Utility Scale. You will deliver field service support for utility-scale PV projects across EMEA, including installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of inverter systems.

The role requires degree in Electrical Engineering, 3+ years in field service, and fluency in English. Travel across EMEA is expected; join an international team and contribute to safe, reliable energy solutions.

Qualifications

  • Degree or technical education in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in field service, commissioning, or technical support.
  • Experience with solar inverters and utility-scale PV plants preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and LV/MV systems.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and service documentation.
  • Fluent English; Polish or another European language is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field service support for utility-scale PV projects across EMEA.
  • Support installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of inverter systems.
  • Conduct site inspections, fault diagnosis and corrective actions with customers and EPCs.
  • Assist MV station, communication, monitoring and inverter-related activities.
  • Serve as customer-facing technical representative during commissioning and warranty work.
  • Provide service reports and root-cause analysis to HQ teams.
  • Help prepare service procedures, checklists and safety documentation.
  • Deliver technical training to customers and partners when required.
  • Coordinate spare parts and test equipment for projects.
  • Support service activities for strategic agreements and key accounts.
  • Ensure safety standards and quality expectations in all activities.
  • Collaborate with Technical Manager, Sales and HQ Service for issue resolution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of products and service processes.

As a Technical Service Engineer - Utility Scale, you will



  • Provide field service support for utility-scale PV projects across EMEA

  • Support installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of utility-scale inverter systems and related equipment

  • Perform site inspections, technical audits, fault diagnosis and corrective actions in cooperation with customers, EPCs and internal teams

  • Support MV station, communication, monitoring and inverter-related activities within the defined scope of service responsibility

  • Act as a customer-facing technical representative during commissioning, service interventions and warranty-related activities

  • Provide structured technical feedback, service reports, issue documentation and root cause information to HQ Service, Quality and R&D teams

  • Support preparation and execution of service procedures, commissioning checklists, maintenance instructions and safety documentation

  • Deliver technical training to customers, partners, EPC teams and internal colleagues when required

  • Coordinate spare parts, service tools, test equipment and site readiness requirements for assigned projects

  • Support service activities related to strategic agreements, key accounts and utility-scale reference projects

  • Ensure that service activities are performed in line with safety standards, quality expectations and customer requirements

  • Work closely with the Technical Manager, Sales and HQ Service teams to ensure fast and professional issue resolution

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of products, service processes and customer documentation based on field experience


Your background and skills:


  • Degree or technical education in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Automation, Energy Systems or a related technical field

  • 3+ years of experience in field service, commissioning, troubleshooting or technical support in solar PV, power electronics, industrial automation or electrical systems

  • Experience with solar inverters and utility-scale PV plants is strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of electrical safety, LV/MV systems, communication systems, monitoring platforms and site commissioning procedures

  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, technical manuals, commissioning protocols and service documentation

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure on customer sites

  • Hands-on mindset, high safety awareness and willingness to travel extensively across EMEA

  • Good reporting skills and ability to document technical issues clearly

  • Good communication skills and customer-oriented attitude

  • Fluent English; Polish or another European language is an advantage

  • Driving license and ability to work on project sites are required
