Job summary

GlobalLogic Automotive is seeking a System Test Engineer/Developer to join a high-impact automotive project in Kraków. You will bridge test automation with hands-on HIL/Box Car operations across the software development lifecycle, delivering robust automated tests and reliable hardware setups.

You will design and maintain test scripts, convert ambiguous requirements into scalable automation, analyze logs, and contribute to continuous improvement in test coverage for CAN/Ethernet/LIN networks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in system testing within embedded/automotive domains.
• Scripting and log analysis using Python, CAPL or C#.
• Experience with HIL rigs or Box Car setups.
• Designing test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Proactive problem-solver with ambiguous requirements.
• Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet and LIN protocols is a plus.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Due to rapid growth, the GlobalLogic Automotive department is looking for a System Test Engineer / Developer to join a high-impact automotive project.

In this role, you will help optimize and expand next-generation Automotive Solutions for leading Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs across Europe and the US. We are building a modern computer-in-the-car architecture—a foundational technology enabling innovations in advanced connectivity, machine learning, and autonomous driving. Requirements

• Proven experience in system testing within the Embedded or Automotive domains.
• Hands-on experience scripting and analyzing logs using Python, CAPL, or C#.
• Practical experience working with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) rigs or Box Car setups.
• Strong background in designing test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Proactive problem-solver comfortable dealing with ambiguous requirements.
• Knowledge of standard automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, LIN) is a strong plus.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Job responsibilities

This is a hybrid role bridging test automation and hands-on physical set up operations (HIL / Box Cars) throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

Test Automation & Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve overall test efficiency and coverage.
• Transform manual test cases and vague requirements into scalable, automated solutions.
• Identify and implement continuous automation work packages.
• Parse and analyze system logs generated by automated test environments using Python, CAPL, and/or C#.
• Execute functional, exploratory, and regression tests (including diagnostics, vehicle communication, and low-level Basetech domains).
• Analyze test results, conduct root-cause analysis, and differentiate between actual product defects and test setup/environment issues.
• Document summary reports and manage detailed bug tickets for identified defects.

HIL & Box Car Operations (Hardware Focus):

• Take full ownership of complex test setups, including physical Box Cars (test rigs) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) systems.
• Prepare test targets by flashing and configuring exact hardware and software baselines.
• Troubleshoot hardware/rig environment issues (e.g., incorrect HW baselines, faulty physical connections) and implement countermeasures.
• Perform physical hardware upgrades and technical maintenance in collaboration with engineering teams.
