Location: Remote (with occasional travel to laboratories)

Contract: 6 months, renewable

About the Project

For one of our clients, we are looking for a System Engineer to join a dynamic and young engineering team. The role is part of a research project focused on developing a generic Battery Management System (BMS) platform for railway applications – a long-term product with strong market potential in the field of electric mobility.

Your Responsibilities
  • Define and manage system requirements and architecture across the full product lifecycle.
  • Translate customer specifications into technical system requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and performance.
  • Support design reviews, risk assessments, and validation activities.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, design, and testing.
  • Contribute to the improvement of system engineering processes and tools.
  • Provide support for laboratory activities by analyzing issues and identifying solutions.
  • Act as a System Coordinator (approx. 10–20% of the role)
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in system engineering or product development.
  • Knowledge of EN 50126 norm.
  • Experience with complex zonal controllers (e.g., drivetrain or BMS) is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of system architecture, requirements management, and validation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards (IEC 61508 and related).
  • Experience with embedded systems, electronics, or software integration.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent English (additional languages are a plus).
