Sustainability Manager – Experis Polska

Location: 100% remote (Poland) Travel: Occasional international and domestic travel required

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Sustainability Manager to join the Central Sustainability Team within the Global Design & Construction (GDC) function. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and implement a global sustainability strategy across diverse markets in AMER, EMEA, and APAC. You will lead and support sustainability initiatives across design and construction projects, focusing on embodied carbon, green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark, NABERS), construction and demolition waste, and sustainability governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, enhancement, and daily management of the GDC Sustainability Charter across key areas such as embodied carbon, green building certifications, construction and demolition waste, and sustainability governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead sustainability efforts from design inception to construction, including business case reviews and the development and maintenance of dedicated sustainability standards.
  • Ensure alignment with global sustainability regulations and strategic goals.
  • Establish and manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Sustainability Program Office, Utilities & Energy team, Global Operations, Accounting, Sales & customers, Investor & Analyst Relations, Marketing, and Global Procurement.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert for GDC sustainability initiatives, providing guidance on embodied carbon, certifications, waste management, and governance practices.
  • Manage the sourcing and purchasing process for sustainability consultants, including proposal evaluation, contract negotiation, purchase order administration, and scope preparation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure full participation in key program elements and accurate, complete data collection for internal strategy and external reporting (e.g., GRI, CDP, Sustainability Report, Green Finance Framework).
  • Execute and oversee multiple simultaneous sustainability projects and initiatives aligned with the GDC Sustainability Charter.
  • Create, control, and enhance reporting activities, ensuring accurate tracking of sustainability data such as green building certifications, embodied carbon reduction, and construction waste metrics.
  • Align GDC construction projects with sustainability goals and charter requirements.
  • Facilitate program and project meetings, identifying and resolving cross‑functional issues at the program level.
  • Track project benefits, including carbon savings and financial metrics.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design and construction, with direct collaboration with general contractors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project and program management.
  • Experience in IT companies required.
  • Experience in data center or colocation environments is a strong plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to translate complex sustainability topics for diverse audiences.
  • Experience designing dashboards, roadmaps, and presentations.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
  • Ability to work independently across global teams and time zones.
  • Awareness of sustainability legislation relevant to data centers, real estate, and tech sectors (e.g., EU Green Deal, Sustainable Finance Taxonomy).
  • Familiarity with voluntary sustainability programs (e.g., CDP, GRI, GHG Protocol, SASB, SBTs, TCFD).
  • Knowledge of accounting, CDP, project management tools, BI, SharePoint, BIM, WordPress.
  • Degree (engineering or related field) and strong communication skills.
