Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst focused on trade compliance to align import/export operations with regulatory requirements. You will work with Legal, Compliance, and Logistics to refine controls, classifications, and documentation across a global IT hardware deployment.

You will analyze data, manage compliance records, and support automation efforts while coordinating with customs brokers and internal teams on complex cross-border activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in international trade compliance with HTS/ECCN classification.
  • Knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and licensing.
  • Familiarity with customs documentation and export controls.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and improve import/export compliance processes and controls.
  • Determine export license requirements and maintain supporting records.
  • Maintain product classifications and audit records (HTS, ECCN, Schedule B).
  • Conduct audits, define KPIs, and deliver training on trade compliance.
  • Oversee daily supply chain activities with providers and support projects.
  • Identify automation opportunities and standardize processes.

The role involves managing supply chain operations with emphasis on Import/Export Compliance and regulatory requirements. Collaboration with manufacturers, logistics providers, carriers, repair vendors, customs authorities, and legal teams ensures efficient workflows.

As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with Akamai Legal and Compliance to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements for Supply Chain and Logistics operations.
  • Developing and improving import and export compliance processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Determining export authorization requirements and preparing required licenses, license exceptions, supporting documentation, and compliance records.
  • Maintaining accurate product classifications, including HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN, and ensuring classification records are complete, current, and auditable.
  • Conducting compliance audits, determining import/export controls, delivering export compliance training, and developing KPIs to measure trade compliance performance.
  • Overseeing daily operations and performance for Supply Chain providers while supporting senior analysts and Project Managers on selected projects.
  • Developing and maintaining a thorough technical understanding of products used across Akamai's deployed network while identifying opportunities for automation and standardization.

  • Demonstrate experience in international trade compliance, including U.S. import and export regulations, HTS and ECCN classification, export controls, licensing requirements, customs documentation.
  • Collaborate across teams with Logistics, Planning, Design, and Engineering to align strategies, guide distribution decisions, and address regulatory requirements effectively.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and logistics providers to ensure smooth operations and adherence to regulations in global shipping activities.
  • Demonstrate analytical and data management skills, including advanced Excel proficiency and experience maintaining accurate compliance data in ERP, classification, or document management systems.
  • Exhibit communication skills in writing and speaking, including technical correspondence with agencies, while collaborating effectively in a global environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, organization, and capacity to negotiate while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
