Job summary

Bechtel, a global engineering and construction leader, seeks a Subcontract Management professional to lead preparation and administration of subcontracts for major EPC projects in Poland. You will manage bid packages, ensure contractual compliance, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful contracting outcomes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years of experience in contract formation/management, with strong MS Office skills.

• Negotiates and resolves small-to-moderate contract changes.
• Leads pre-bid, bid clarification, and pre-award meetings to ensure mutual understanding of terms.
• Receives, evaluates, and reports on bids; prepares Commercial Bid Summary.

Project Overview

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary

In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration. Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures. Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties. Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements.

Major Responsibilities

Subcontract Management

• Implements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract Management
• Manages assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties
• Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major matters
• Manages less complex contract changes by negotiating and obtaining settlement
• Participates in contractual discussions of low to moderate complexity
• Communicates to ensure mutual understanding of subcontract terms and conditions

Other Major Responsibilities

• Duties and responsibilities involve the formation and award of small value, routine-type subcontracts
• Prepares bidders’ lists and pre-qualifies bidders
• Forms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved bidders
• Coordinates bidders’ questions and answers to those questions
• Prepares and organizes assigned meetings, such as pre-bid, bid clarification and pre-award meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual matters
• Receives bids and evaluates bids commercially
• Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations
• Assists with negotiations in commitment of contracts, but directs negotiation in small value contracts
• Develops and issues subcontracts and services agreements as assigned
• Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures
• Prepares subcontract documents for execution
• Prepares and maintains control and status reporting documents
• Works with Digital Supply Chain and other Automation Tools

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in formation and/or management of different contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.
• Proficiency in MS Office software suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
