Job summary

AFRY is seeking a Structural Designer to work on wastewater treatment plant projects, primarily in Switzerland, from its Polish team. The role involves designing reinforced concrete structures, coordinating with process engineers and BIM modelers, and aligning with SIA/HOAI standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Team player with multidisciplinary interest.
• Proficient English level B2-C1.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Solid knowledge of BIM (openBIM) and collaboration tools.
• Solid software skills for structural calculations (SOFiSTiK, TEKLA, ALLPLAN).

Responsibilities

• Design of civil work structures such as tanks, basins, pumping stations, service buildings for domestic wastewater treatment plants (reinforced concrete).
• Basic sizing from process engineers; follow-up design work gathering data from machinery, electrical, HVAC and EMCR to fit the process and design rules (e.g., German HOAI).
• Design process follows Swiss SIA and German HOAI stages (project basis to detailed design).
• Design of civil works using BIM methodology with modelers.
• Participation in internal/external meetings and video conferences.
• Regular reporting to Project Manager.
