Store Manager Duties and Responsibilities

Store Managers play a vital role in the success of the shop. Their duties include:

  • Managing and overseeing shop operations, including opening and closing routines, ensuring efficient store functioning, managing the sales floor, and maximizing profitability.
  • Implementing human resources duties such as recruiting, hiring, training, managing schedules, assigning responsibilities, and setting sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Handling administrative functions, meeting sales and financial targets, managing budgets, and processing payroll in accordance with company policies.
  • Controlling inventory levels, conducting regular stock counts, and adjusting stock based on seasonality, promotions, or sales.
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service, establishing staff criteria, and maintaining security, safety, and health and safety compliance.
  • Managing loss prevention strategies, monitoring security measures, auditing paperwork and inventory, and handling damaged or broken merchandise appropriately.
