Job summary

CloudLinux is hiring a Staff Security Engineer for the Imunify360 security suite. This remote-first role focuses on end-to-end threat discovery, detection, mitigation, and post-incident review for Linux servers and web apps.

You will lead malware analysis, threat modeling, and detection tooling while mentoring teams across engineering, security research, and support. Strong hands-on security expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security engineering, malware research, incident response, or offensive security with cross-team leadership.
• Deep hands-on malware analysis and reverse engineering skills.
• Strong web application security and practical exploitation experience.
• Deep Linux knowledge from attacker and defender perspectives.
• Proven incident response leadership on large-scale events; write advisories and post-mortems.
• Production coding in Python plus a systems language (Go, Rust or C).
• Experience with coordinated vulnerability disclosure and security community engagement.
• Clear, concise writing for engineers and non-technical stakeholders; async collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead malware and campaign mitigation across protection layers and triage incidents.
• Coordinate security responses with vendors, CERTs/CSIRTs, and partners; manage disclosure.
• Red-team our product and infrastructure; threat-model new features before shipping.
• Raise the quality bar for detections with telemetry, tests, and controlled rollouts.
• Mentor analysts and engineers; contribute to hiring and skill development.
