Job summary

AeroVect is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to design and build planning systems for autonomous ground support in airports. You will own mission, behavior, and motion planning across the full stack, tackling optimization, decision-making under uncertainty, and real-time constraints.

You will collaborate with perception, controls, localization, and systems teams to deliver an integrated autonomous driving system and promote safety-focused software practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience designing planning modules for autonomous systems deployed in production.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ (preferred) or Python; Linux experience.
  • Ability to solve ambiguous technical problems and deliver well-architected solutions independently.
  • Excellent communication, proactiveness, and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate on the mission, behavior, and motion planners for autonomous ground support equipment in airport environments.
  • Drive key technical decisions across the planning stack, define interfaces, and set architecture.
  • Prototype and evaluate planning approaches and bring best ideas to production.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with perception, controls, localization, and systems engineering teams.
  • Promote best practices in software development, functional safety, and systems engineering.
  • Mentor other engineers through guidance, code reviews, and design discussions.
