Job description

Company Background:

Genuine Parts Company founded in 1928 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, is a leading specialty distributor engaged in the distribution of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services. The Company operates a global portfolio of businesses with more than 10,000 locations across the world, employing 60,000 people.

The GPC Global Technology Center in Krakow, established in 2022 by Genuine Parts Company is an innovative research and development facility supporting GPC’s digital transformation efforts.

The hub is focused on the development of advanced technologies and solutions that support GPC's operations and growth.

The GPC Global Technology Center team works on a wide range of projects assisting in areas such as e-commerce and data platforms, supply chain solutions, selling systems, and cyber security. This is home to a team of highly skilled IT engineers who are dedicated to driving innovation and delivering cutting‑edge solutions for GPC.

Position Purpose:

As an SRE within our growing eCommerce organization, you will be the engineer our development teams count on for smooth builds, deployments, and day‑to‑day platform support. You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerize services, and deploy them to Azure. Working alongside developers, you will support them with Docker, DNS, certificates, and traffic routing, and help keep our services reliable through our observability stack. In cooperation with the SRE lead and other engineers, you will independently own well‑scoped automation and reliability work, while growing toward broader platform ownership over time.

Requirements:
  • 2–3+ years of hands‑on experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
  • Practical, hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) - able to build independently, not only run existing & writing and optimizing Dockerfiles
  • Confident with Git / GitHub workflows
  • Solid networking fundamentals - DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and status codes, TLS/SSL certificates, reverse proxies, firewalls, and traffic routing; able to debug
  • Hands‑on with progressive delivery - Blue/Green deployments
  • Hands‑on with observability - not just actively using logs, metrics, and traces to debug production issues but also building dashboards, alerts, thresholds; experience with New Relic is a strong plus
  • Scripting in Bash and/or Python
  • Works independently on well‑scoped problems and knows when to elevate
  • Hands‑on and pragmatic - solves the problem, not just closes the ticket
  • Good communicator - supports development teams directly, day to day
  • Proactive with an ownership mindset
  • Curious and open to learning new tools
  • Reliability mindset - thinks about what can break, and why, before it does
  • Reduces operational toil through automation, and documents operational tasks so they’re repeatable and reliable

Nice to have: Azure ACA, APIM; Cloudflare; API versioning and feature flags (LaunchDarkly); secrets management / OIDC federation; e-commerce or high‑traffic environments
