Main responsibilities:
- Administration of on-premises SQL Server databases (2008–2025), including configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and ensuring 24/7/365 operational continuity
- Implementing and maintaining Disaster Recovery and High Availability solutions
- Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation
- Identifying and resolving performance issues
- Securing data through backup & recovery solutions
- Administration of databases over 1TB
- Participating in SQL Server environment audits and recommending configuration best practices
- Monitoring database environments
- Executing projects within the SQL Server database domain
- Supporting development and analytical teams with server configuration and SQL queries
- Supporting data warehouses
- Participating in migration projects, SQL Server version upgrades, and deployment of new environments
- Readiness for on-call duties (a few days per month)
Requirements:
- Higher education in computer science or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in administration and optimization of SQL Server databases
- Experience in administering IT systems
- Knowledge and practical application of SQL Server Profiler, Query Store, and Extended Events
- Knowledge of DR and HA solutions for SQL Server
- Readiness for occasional presence in the Poznań office (a few times a year) for team integration and relationship building
- Knowledge of ITIL standards
- English proficiency at a min. B2 level
- Experience in managing databases in the Microsoft Azure cloud
- Experience in configuration and administration of SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS
- Microsoft certifications (preferably DP-300, MCSA)
- Knowledge of PowerShell
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux operating systems
- Experience in administering Oracle database systems and knowledge of PL/SQL
- Knowledge of Zabbix, SCOM, or other tools used in system monitoring
