Job Description

As a Splunk Monitoring & Observability Engineer within GTS Enterprise System Management, you will play a key role in shaping, securing, and evolving observability capabilities supporting Euroclear’s critical services. This role requires deep, hands‑on expertise with Splunk Enterprise. You will act as a technical authority, driving design, standards, and complex implementations across monitoring, automation, and observability. Beyond delivery, you will influence standards, lead strategic improvements, and provide technical leadership across complex, cross‑team initiatives.

Your Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the operational reliability, resilience, stability, and continuous improvement of monitoring and observability platforms in a hybrid and complex environment, with accountability for sustainable service outcomes.
  • Acting as a senior technical leader for support activities (incidents, alerts, changes, problem management), while driving the sustainable resolution of recurring issues and steering corrective actions on high‑impact topics.
  • Collaborating closely with IT experts, engineering teams, and stakeholders to capture, challenge, and prioritize monitoring requirements, while aligning delivery choices with company objectives, risk constraints, and strategic priorities.
  • Designing and leading the implementation of monitoring, alerting, dashboarding, log ingestion, and automation solutions, aligned with business, operational, architecture, and control requirements.
  • Leading architecture and design discussions across infrastructure and application domains, influencing target solutions and ensuring implementations are sustainable, secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.
  • Driving the standardization, industrialization, governance, and strategic evolution of Enterprise System Management solutions (monitoring, observability, Flexera), including the definition of best practices and technical guardrails.
    • Developing and maintaining automation solutions to reduce manual effort, improve service quality, controls and enhance scalability.
    • Ensuring compliance with operational standards, security requirements, and controls in a highly regulated environment.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to team members by coaching on solution design, troubleshooting approaches, operational excellence, shaping standards and supporting capability growth across the squad and beyond.
  • Taking ownership of complex cross‑team initiatives and influencing the technical roadmap for observability and automation capabilities in line with enterprise priorities.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
    • Participating in the Watch‑Duty rotation, as well as supporting out‑of‑hours activities such as weekend releases and critical interventions when required.
Your Profile
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent through experience.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in senior engineering roles with ownership of complex technical topics.
    • Hands‑on expertise in Splunk (administration, configuration, data onboarding, search, dashboards, alerting).
    • Skills in automation/scripting with one of the following languages:
      • Ansible
      • Powershell
      • Python
    • Linux / Windows / Network technology
  • Experience with the following products or technologies is a plus:
    • Dynatrace / Cribl / Tivoli Monitoring / Netcool Omnibus / Flexera
    • OpenTelemetry
    • Azure / Openshift
    • AIOps / Anomaly detection / AI‑assisted observability
    • Other experiences in observability and monitoring solutions.
  • Be comfortable leading technical discussions, influencing key design decisions, challenging proposals when needed, and engaging constructively with stakeholders across multiple technology domains.
  • Show strong analytical skills, a structured and proactive mindset, and the ability to work autonomously on complex and ambiguous topics while balancing technical excellence, operational stability, control requirements, and customer needs.
  • Be open to change, able to lead transformation in tools, processes and ways of working, and willing to share expertise, coach others, and contribute to the growth of the team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to define standards, promote engineering best practices, and influence technical direction beyond the immediate scope of assigned tasks.
  • Have working experience in an Agile context and be capable of operating effectively under pressure, handling complex situations and meeting strict deadlines.
