Job summary

Takeda in Lodz, Poland, is seeking a Sourcing Manager – Warehouse and Distribution (Associate Director) to lead strategic sourcing across warehousing, transportation, and cold-chain categories. You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality, and Compliance to optimize total landed cost and supplier governance, delivering a resilient distribution network.

The role requires 7+ years in procurement or supply chain, English fluency, and deep knowledge of logistics services and e-sourcing

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain procurement, including warehousing and distribution.
Experience in warehousing, transportation, freight forwarding, third‑party logistics, cold‑chain, and distribution services.
Experience developing total landed cost models, freight benchmarking analyses, lane‑level sourcing strategies, and should‑cost models for logistics services.
Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice, cold-chain qualification processes, pharmaceutical distribution requirements, and customs considerations.
Knowledge of logistics supplier commercial models (open-book, cost-plus, gainshare, etc.).
Proficiency with SAP Ariba or similar e-sourcing platforms, Excel, PowerPoint, and generative AI tools.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and supplier governance, with cross‑functional leadership in a global environment.
Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead sourcing strategies for warehousing, transportation, freight forwarding, cold‑chain, and distribution categories.
Lead complex supplier negotiations and contracting using cost models, benchmarks, and market intelligence.
Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Trade Compliance, and Quality to align sourcing with operational and compliance requirements.
Manage strategic logistics suppliers through governance, relationships, and continuous improvement.
Build and apply total landed cost models covering storage, handling, freight, fuel, customs, and other cost drivers.
Drive sourcing initiatives for temperature-controlled and cold-chain solutions, including qualified shipping and distribution services.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks via contingency planning and alternative sourcing.
Establish and monitor logistics performance measures to support service quality and business continuity.
