Job summary

Jacobs Poland is expanding its Digital Consulting practice and seeking a technically grounded leader to build and lead a cross-functional team. You will recruit, mentor and drive delivery on Azure-based solutions, partnering with clients to shape proposals and delivery approaches.

The role blends hands-on project work with strategic leadership, supervising engineers and consultants, shaping cloud architectures, and communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and executive

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture or technology consulting.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Strong hands-on technical background in cloud-based solution delivery, ideally within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, with the ability and willingness to contribute directly to client projects.
• Experience designing and delivering modern software and cloud solutions, with the technical depth to make and challenge architecture and technology decisions.
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English and Polish.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a cross-functional technical team, supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance and professional development.
• Develop both the technical and consulting capabilities of the team, including structured problem solving, client communication and proposal development.
• Contribute hands-on to client projects, particularly during discovery, solution design, prototyping and delivery, working alongside the engineering team when needed.
• Work directly with clients through discovery sessions and workshops, translating business needs into technical options, recommendations and actionable delivery plans.
• Shape technical solutions and delivery approaches for customer-specific and productized solutions, primarily using Microsoft Azure and related technologies.
• Contribute to bids and proposals alongside Jacobs and PA Consulting teams, including solution design, scope, estimates, delivery models and assumptions.
• Present technical solutions, recommendations and roadmaps to client stakeholders, including senior and executive audiences.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across software development, cloud architecture and AI-enabled solutions while promoting strong engineering practices across the team.
• Collaborate with global product managers and technical leads to support product roadmaps and build expertise within the Poland team.
• Act as a key link between the Poland team and global stakeholders and contribute to the broader leadership of the Digital & Data business in Poland.

Your impact

Jacobs is building a Digital Consulting practice in Poland that works closely with Jacobs' global Digital & Data business and PA Consulting. We help owners and operators of critical infrastructure across transport, water, energy and cities design, deliver and operate digital solutions, including data platforms, digital twins, AI‑enabled decision tools and customer‑specific applications, primarily built on Microsoft Azure.

We are looking for a technically grounded leader with a consulting mindset to help build and lead this team from the ground up. This is a player‑coach role combining people leadership, technical direction, hands‑on project delivery and client engagement. You will grow and develop a team of engineers and consultants while also contributing directly to selected client projects, working with clients and global teams to shape solutions, proposals and delivery approaches.

Here’s what you’ll need

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture or technology consulting, including experience leading technical teams.
• Strong hands‑on technical background in cloud‑based solution delivery, ideally within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, with the ability and willingness to contribute directly to client projects.
• Experience designing and delivering modern software and cloud solutions, with the technical depth to make and challenge architecture and technology decisions.
• Strong experience with .NET/C# and Microsoft Azure. Experience with Python, Azure data services and cloud infrastructure would be beneficial.
• Proven experience managing and developing engineers or other technical professionals.
• Strong client‑facing communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to balance technical quality with business and customer needs.
• Fluent English and Polish.

Nice to Have

• Experience in consulting or professional services, including proposal development, estimation, solution shaping and direct client engagement.
• Experience with generative AI or LLM‑based solutions.
• Exposure to digital twins, data platforms or other solutions for asset‑intensive industries.
• Experience within infrastructure, engineering or related industries.
• Experience working across distributed and international teams.
