Job summary

CQUE is seeking a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer, Platform, to build the technical foundations powering a global cloud-based SaaS platform. You will join a high-performing Platform Engineering team owning infrastructure, services, tooling, and developer experience across multiple countries and time zones.

The role covers developers of shared libraries, internal APIs, and CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on scalable, secure platforms and strong ownership of production systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js, ideally NestJS in production.
• Strong fundamentals: CPU, memory, I/O, concurrency, performance bottlenecks.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and reviewing AI-generated code.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, query analysis.
• Familiarity with AWS services: DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release flows.
• Experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog.
• Willingness to learn across a broad, evolving platform landscape.
• Commitment to writing clean, reusable code.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer, Platform to help build the technical foundations that power a global, cloud-based SaaS platform.

You’ll join a high-performing Platform Engineering team responsible for the infrastructure, services, tooling, and developer experience that product engineering teams rely on every day.

This is not a tickets-in, tickets-out role.

The Platform team owns its roadmap, chooses the problems worth solving, and measures success by how much faster, safer, and more reliably the wider engineering organization can deliver.

You’ll work across internal libraries, shared backend services, CI/CD, developer tooling, and observability—while collaborating with engineering teams across multiple countries and time zones.

What You’ll Work On

• Build and maintain shared libraries and SDKs covering areas such as authentication, logging, configuration, gRPC clients, and error handling.
• Develop shared backend services and internal APIs.
• Improve developer experience through service templates, scaffolding, and local-development tooling.
• Build and maintain fast, reliable, and secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience building backend services with TypeScript / Node.js, ideally with NestJS in production.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including an understanding of CPU, memory, I/O, concurrency, and performance bottlenecks.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively, with the technical judgment to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query analysis.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, and Lambda.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and understanding release and promotion flows.
• Experience with modern observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or similar.
• A willingness to learn across a broad and constantly evolving platform landscape.
• A focus on writing clean, reusable code that other engineers can understand and build upon.

For Senior-Level Candidates

For the senior level, we’re looking for demonstrated ownership of production systems and the ability to set technical direction.

You should have experience with:

• PostgreSQL performance tuning, including query plans, indexing, hot tables, and slow migrations.
• Designing and building CI/CD strategies, including release flows, artifact promotion, and security.
• Building observability from the ground up, including SLIs/SLOs, dashboards, and effective alerting.
• Acting as a technical voice in cross-team discussions.
• Mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards.
