Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a Pixel kernel team, directing technical work across multi-site groups and shaping project strategy. You will guide engineers, align goals, and ensure high-velocity delivery of complex kernel work for future Android devices.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.
• Experience with Linux/Kernel development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for delivering Pixel kernels with a relentless focus on quality and velocity.
• Define team strategy, manage team project goals, and provide direct technical leadership for all team projects.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role, meet regularly to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
• Collaborate effectively with the global teams, set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization’s goals.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google’s various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user’s interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
