Google Warsaw, Poland is seeking a Share Software Engineer III for Embedded Systems to design and implement thermal management across bootloader, kernel, and HAL. The role involves integrating software during device bring-up and developing automation scripts to run thermal stress tests.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 2 years in C/C++ and embedded OS experience, with a preference for a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the thermal management framework across the bootloader, Linux kernel, and Android HAL.
• Integrate and debug the thermal software during new device bring-up.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python, Shell) for executing thermal stress tests and simulating user workloads.
• Perform root cause analysis on thermal issues by analyzing test data and system logs.
• Develop key metrics (e.g., Time-to-Throttle, skin temperature compliance) to quantify and validate thermal performance.
