Job summary

Alarm.com is expanding in Krakow with a Software Engineer II on the HAX team. You will support delivering high-impact features end-to-end, primarily focused on backend and data, including edge computing and automation features.

Join a growing team building on a cloud-based IoT platform used by millions of homes and businesses. You will collaborate with Product Management and Quality Engineering, contribute to technical designs, and implement features across web, mobile, and backend services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Solid backend engineering skills building and maintaining HTTP APIs/services (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and common design patterns, with experience in C#, .NET Core.
• Solid database fundamentals including schema design, query optimization, indexing.
• Fluency with modern toolchain: Git, CI/CD, JSON, YAML, and observability tooling.
• Demonstrated testing depth across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers.
• Experience providing feedback to peers and influencing code quality through reviews.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate across product, design, and QA to drive technical decisions.

As a Software EngineerIIon HAXTeam Automation Pod, you'llsupportthedelivery of high-impact features end to end, from partnering with Product Management and Quality Engineering,collaborating with your peer engineers, tobeing involved in and owningtechnical designsandfeature implementations.You'll focus primarily on backend development and data,and edge computing infrastructureon our panelsforall ofour automation features including rules, schedules, and more.

Engineers here go deep in their area and stay curious about everything else. We are building a new team in Krakow. Our employees work fully from the office with the possibility to work remotely occasionally.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

• Developbackend and on devicesoftware for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
• Take part in the entire project life cycle, from requirements development to deployment with heavy cross-team collaboration
• Engage in the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging project goals
• Writecoherent, organized code. Ideal candidates must be comfortable working on a complicatedcodebasewithhigh levelsof abstraction
• Exercise good judgment. Know when to work quickly, and when to build a robust solution
• Work hard and be flexible: we have quick development cycles, evolving requirements, and lots of cross-team collaboration
• Bring your ideas! We want our engineers to collaborate on product development, not blindly build to a spec

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?

• Fluency with the day-to-day toolchain of a modern engineer — version control (Git workflows), CI/CD, package managers, structured data formats (JSON, YAML), and observability tooling
• Demonstrated testing depth across unit, integration, and end-to-end test layers
• Experience providing feedback to peers and influencing code quality through design and code reviews
